Describe the work behind the quoted label
A broad description of tax help can leave important boundaries unexplained. Ask which taxpayer or entity, periods, and documents the proposed task covers. Determine whether the work concerns preparation, record review, authority communication, or another defined responsibility. Identify who would do it and how appropriate qualifications and authorization can be checked. Keep the proposed scope beside the actual account instruction so gaps are easier to see.
Clarify how the work starts and ends
Request an explanation of fees, excluded tasks, document exchange, deliverables, and follow-up. Ask what remains your responsibility and how additional years or new correspondence would be handled. Retain the agreement separately from a general expectation about an authority’s decision. A first call or quote does not establish that all tax matters are included. The scope map helps compare what is proposed with what the records require, without endorsing a provider or guaranteeing a professional or account result.
